About Us
Health and Safety
At John Lord we are commited to the promotion of Health and Safety at all levels. Our Health and Safety System refers to our site, our working activities and our employees and contractors. We also recognise our responsibilities for the Health and Safety of others who may be affected by our actvities.
It is our aim to achieve a safe and healthy working environment, which is free of work related accidents and ill-health.
The John Lord Health and Safety Manual is our top-level Health and Safety document which is updated annually, and includes our organisation structure for safety and a directors statement. It also refers to our 51 Health and Safety Procedures. The Health and Safety Manual was developed in line with HSG 65 (the HSE's Guidance on Health and Safety Management Systems) and the International Standard, OHSAS 18001.
Our Health and Safety System is compliant with all relevant Health and Safety legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and the Management of Health and Safety at Work regulations 1999.
We have a dedicated Group Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Manager, qualified to PHD and NEBOSH level, who is responsible for the control and implementation of our Health and Safety System.
Our Training Matrix identifies our companys' Health and Safety Training requirements for all employees, especially our site-based workforce. We undertake both externally assessed training and in-house training. Our external training includes CSCS and NVQ In Situ Resin Flooring. Examples of our in-house training workshops include: Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, Drug and Alcohol Policy and PPE.
